Robert Leach was born in Prestwick, Ayrshire & enlisted in Edinburgh. Whilst living in Bute. He first landed overseas in France 6-7-1915 serving with 2nd battalion of the Black Watch. He was killed in action in the Persian Gulf 21-1-1916 at the battle of Hanna & is commemorated on the Basra memorial.
