3186693.Private Walter Balmer Yule was born 20-10-1915 and enlisted in to the R.A.M.C in Jedburgh 27-4-1939. He was serving with the 197th field ambulance when he was taken prisoner of war by the Japanese forces at the fall of Singapore 15-2-42. He was held at Roberts hospital & Selerang hospital in Changi from 1942 to 1944 & then at Kranj hospital 1944 to 1945. He was liberated in September 1945 & whilst in captivity suffered from dysentery & tropical ulcers.
