WW1 MILITARY MEDAL (MM) & 1914-15 TRIO, 56th FIELD AMBULANCE R.A.M.C, FROM BRISTOL, DIED FRANCE 1919

Edwin Albert Davis first landed in theatre of war 2B the Balkans / Gallipoli 18-10-1915 & went on to be awarded the MM for services in France with the 56th field ambulance R.A.M.C in the London gazette 26-4-1917. He sadly died of Pneumonia 7-5-1919 serving with the 23rd sanitary section of the R.A.M.C in France & had previously been wounded 10-8-1916. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death and is buried in Doullens communal cemetery extension in France. The CWGC state that he was the late son of William & Lille Davis of Bristol who went on to clam a dependents pension whilst living at 35 Woodborough street, Stapleton road, Bristol.
