Lieutenant Albert Edward Pearce of the 76th Regiment of Foot / 2nd Duke of Wellingtons Regiment was awarded the large Bronze Royal Humane society medal 10-3-1862 for his part in a rescue at Boulogne. He was also awarded the large silver French life saving award for the same rescue & in later life went on to claim a duplicate small bronze life saving award.
NEF.GVF with traces of old glue residue to the reverse of some items. Along with two sterling silver regimental sports medal to the recipient dated Dublin 30-7-1860 & named to the recipient. Every medal in the group is correctly and officially named to the recipient & the later small Royal Humane society medal is officially marked as a duplicate.
A very rare if not unique group.
