Allan Victor Mackenzie's MC was announced in the London Gazette dated 26th July 1917, "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when leading raids into the enemy's lines. His dash and determination enabled him to inflict heavy casualties upon the enemy, and on one occasion he carried a wounded man back over a distance of 300 yards under heavy shell fire. His conduct throughout was beyond all praise."
He was commissioned in the Special Reserve 7/7/16, landed France 18/10/16, post war he was commissioned in RAMC T.A 8/6/29 & when he applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1921 he was living at 22 Belmont, Shrewsbury.
