James Richard Ward first landed in France 26-9-1915 serving with the 13th service battalion of the Liverpool regiment. He transferred to the Machine Gun Corps with service number 71926 & was twice recorded on the war office casualty lists as having been wounded 31-10-1917 & 29-6-1918. He was discharged with a pension in 1919 whilst living at 12 Kent street, off Park lane, Liverpool.
