Robert Thomas Lowes was born in Newcastle on Tyne & enlisted in Alnwick. Whilst living in Morpeth. He first landed in France 21-4-1915 serving with the 1/7th battalion & was killed in action in France & Flanders 24-6-1916. He was 24 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in La Laiterie military cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late Son of Arthur and Jane Lowes, of 2, Wallace Place, Morpeth, Northumberland.
