John Williams enlisted in Halifax whilst living in Huddersfield. He died of wounds in France & Flanders 20-9-1917 serving with the 10th battalion of the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment. He was 19 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Godewaersvelde British cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Elizabeth Williams of 1245 Leeds Road, Bradley, Huddersfield.
