George Smith Cunningham was born in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire & enlisted in Glasgow. Whilst living in Govan. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 16-6-1918 whilst serving with the 1st battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was 19 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Sandpits cemetery at Fouqereuil. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Mr & Mrs George Cunningham of 125 Blackburn Street, Govan, Glasgow.
GVF & Complete with a battle damaged whistle that was purportedly sent home to the recipients parents after his death. Along with MIC details & details from both SDGW & the CWGC
