Edward Walker was born in Scarborough 1872 & enlisted in to the army in his home town in 1891. He served with the regiment on the 1896 Ashanti Campaign & during the Boer war of 1899-1902 & left the army in 1902. He re-enlisted on the outbreak of WW1 and served with the 20th Northern battalion of the Rifle Brigade in Egypt 1916-1919 before once again being discharged.
The Ashanti star is named on the reverse as the Colonel of the West Yorkshire Regiment paid for the naming of all the stars to his regiment at his own expense.
Lightly polished GVF or better with a superb original photograph of the recipient wearing his medals & his late brothers QSA in old age. Along with copy service papers & medal roll details.
