Eric Gantlett was born in Latton Wiltshire & enlisted in to the R.F.A 31-8-1914 in Swindon. He first landed in theatre of war 3 (Egypt) 19-7-1915 serving as a Bty Sjt Major with the Royal Field Artillery & went on to be M.I.D in the London gazette 18-2-1919. He returned home at the wars end and became a farmer in Fairford. He went on to join the Gloucester Special Constabulary in the 1930's & during WW2 he was the head Special Constable of the Lechlade section.
He passed away in Cheltenham in 1974 age 79.
