James (Jimmy) Quinn was born 14-4-1946 & enlisted in to the Royal Artillery in Newcastle on Tyne 29-4-1965. He transferred to the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers 24-11-1965 whilst in Singapore & served with the regiment in Aden from 18-12-1966 to 23-6-1967. He was discharged from the army for misconduct 24-4-1969 having served 3 years 361 days. He was a resident of Blyth Northumberland & one regimental veteran described his as a character. During the miners strike of 1984 he was convicted for stealing 7 cwt of coal from a local coal merchants.
