Arthur Benstead was born in Middlesbrough & enlisted in to the Royal Artillery in 1924 age 18. He was awarded the efficiency medal in army order 110 of 1937 & two extra service clasps in 1942 & 1947. His award of the 1937 coronation medal is confirmed on the published roll & his three WW2 campaign medals are confirmed on his medal application card which is dated 1950 & states that he was living at 27 Casey street, Middlesbrough, Yorks.
Sadly the two extra long service clasps are missing from the ribbon of the efficiency medal.
