Charles Robert Hawkes died of disease in Canada 1-11-1918 whilst serving with British Columbia depot battalion of the Canadian infantry. He was 29 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Prospect cemetery, Toronto. The CWGC state that he was the late son of William & Maria Hawkes of Ivy farm, Willingham, Lincoln, England.
NEF/GVF & Marked as sterling with a makers mark to the reverse of the lower arm.
