James Lobban first landed in France 18-2-1917 serving with the Northumberland Hussars yeomanry & later went on to serve with the Northumberland Fusiliers with service number 235667 prior to being commissioned as a captain in the Labour Corps. He never served overseas after his commission & as such his medals are correctly named to the highest rank he achieved whilst serving overseas, He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1922 whilst living at 4 Clarence terrace, Willington, County Durham.
