The recipient was taken prisoner of war at the fall of France serving with the 1st Lothians & Border Horse with service number 7891800 & was held at Stalag XXI B/Z Schubin.
This medal was purchased direct from the recipients daughter in Pencaitland & comes with two group photographs of the recipient in uniform whilst serving in the local police force. He is wearing his WW2 medal ribbons on his police tunic in the photographs.
