Edward.W.Heighway enlisted 10-4-1917 and first served in France with the Lancashire fusiliers. He went on to serve with the Manchester regiment & the Royal engineers. He was discharged with a silver war badge due to sickness 21-10-1918 whilst serving with the railway troops depot Royal Engineers & was 34 years of age at the time of his discharge.
