Robert Bower from Aberdeen was born 1880 & served with the 4th volunteer service company as part of the 1st battalion of the Gordon Highlanders during the Boer war of 1899-1902. He was awarded his Territorial Force efficiency medal in army order 282 dated 1-10-1911 & went on to serve with the 4th reserve battalion during WW1. He was wounded in the leg 12-4-1918 & discharged at the wars end.
