WW1 family group to two brothers from Gosport
1) 1914-15 Trio To- 220346.A.E.FELTON.PO.RN
Albert Edward Felton was born in Gosport, Hampshire 5-11-1886 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in 1904. He joined the crew of HMS Black Prince 21-4-1914 & was still serving onboard when she was sunk at the battle of Jutland 31-5-1916. He was 29 years of age and having no known grave other than the sea he is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late brother of Stephen James Felton of 14 Holly street, Stoke Road, Gosport, Hampshire.
2) WW1 British War Medal & GVR 1st type RN LS&GC To- 208402.S.J.FELTON.PO.RN
HMS.WOOLWICH (on the LS&GC)
Stephen James Felton was born in Gosport 9-9-1884 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in 1902. He spent all of his war service at HMS Woolwich & is only entitled to the British war medal for his services in WW1. He was awarded his LS&GC in 1917 & was finally invalided to shore in 1924.
The trio is EF & the pair is GVF or better & mounted as worn. Complete with copy service papers for both men & CWGC details for the Jutland casualty
