A very nice family group to two brothers in law from Hawick, Roxburghshire.

Robert Bell from Hawick was killed in action in France & Flanders 8-9-1916 serving with the 102nd battalion of the Canadian Infantry. He was 31 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Reninghelst new military cemetery. He is recorded by the CWGC as the late brother of Mrs Janet Thompson of 11 Weensland Road, Hawick, Roxburghshire.
2) WW1 Pair with original group photograph & golden scroll of honour

John Thomson was born in Selkirk & enlisted in Hawick. He was originally a member of the K.O.S.B with service number 8722 but first served overseas with the 18th service battalion of the Highland Light Infantry / 4th Glasgow pals. He died of wounds in France & Flanders 27-3-1918 & is buried in Warloy-Baillon communal cemetery extension. He was 38 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Robert Thomson of the Haining. Selkirk & the late Husband of Janet Thomson of 11 Weensland Road, Hawick.
A very nice family casualty group with original documents. That sadly is missing a victory medal for one recipient & a memorial plaque for the other recipient.
Complete with CWGC details for both recipients & SDGW details for the H.L.I recipient.
The medals & plaque are NEF or better whilst the paperwork has signs of use & age.
