Richard William Ferry was born in Spennymoor, County Durham & enlisted in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire. He first landed in France 19-12-1915 serving with the 11th service battalion of the Hampshire Regiment & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 9-9-1916 age 21. He is buried in Quarry cemetery at Montauban & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of William Pearson Ferry & Eliza Ferry of 30 Gresham Road, Middlesbrough.
