Andrew Hughes was commissioned in to the 1/7th battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers & went on to be M.I.D for services in Egypt in the London gazette 5-6-1919 whilst attached to the 54th divisional signal company of the Royal Engineers. He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1923 whilst living in Kirkcaldy, Scotland.
