Mint boxed WW1 pair & Memorial Plaque
To- 2-LIEUT.E.PUTNAM
Edmund Putnam from Finchley, London was born 1882 & had seen prior service with the 3rd Middlesex volunteer artillery. He initially landed in Egypt as Gunner with the R.G.A & went on to be commissioned in to the R.G.A in January 1917. He died in Egypt 16-4-1918 serving with the 383rd Siege battery of the R.G.A & is buried in Alexandra (Hadra) war memorial cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Frederick & Francess Ellen Putnam of London & the late husband of M.Putnam of 83 Etchingham park road, Finchley, London.
