Charles Jackson was born in Buntingford, Hertfordshire & enlisted in Hertford. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 28-4-1917 serving with the 24th service battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers / 1st Tyneside Irish. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial & is recorded by the CWGC as the late 34 year old son of Caroline Jackson of Bay Lodge, Hare St Lane, Butingford, Hertfordshire. He had prior service with the Royal Navy. He enlisted 25-10-1899 and deserted 9-7-1900.
