Francis Armstrong from Saltwell, County Durham. First served overseas with the 15th service battalion of the Durham Light Infantry & went on to serve with both the 24/27th battalion & the 8th battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers. He was discharged under kings regulations 392 (xxviii) & returned to live at 221 rectory road, Saltwell.
