Albert James Brixby first served overseas with the 23rd service battalion of the Middlesex Regiment / The second footballers battalion. He was admitted to hospital on new years eve 1917 due to trench foot & spent four months in hospital. On his recovery he was transferred to the 13th service battalion of the East Lancashire regiment with service number 204284.
