Henry Marvin was born in Hackney, London & enlisted in Dalston. He first landed in France 21-8-1914 serving with the 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 3-11-1914. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Menin gate memorial at Ypres. He is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Mr. George Marvin of 103 Southwold road, Clapton & the late husband of Kate Shaw (formerly Marvin) of 230 Millfields road, Clapton, London
