Edward Temple Kirsop was born in Darlington in July of 1892 & on the outbreak of WW1 he enlisted in to the 1/1st Northumberland Hussars Yeomanry. He first landed in France 18-4-1915 & was commissioned in to the Durham Light Infantry 31-5-1918. He relinquished his commission 1-12-1921 & his trio was issued to him at his works address in Middlesbrough. By the outbreak of WW2 he was living in Kingston on Thames and is recorded on the 1939 registers a transport officer with the officers emergency reserve. He died 11-3-1949 age 56.
