William Allen first served overseas in France with the 1/5th battalion & went on to serve with the 1/6th battalion. He was captured by the Germans & taken prisoner of war 17-7-1918 whilst serving with D- company. He was captured at Craonne & held at Doeberitz, He was serving under his new six figure TF number 267089 & his next of kin lived in Saxthorpe. One of only 232 TFWM to the regiment
