Thomas Arthur Blanks was born in Gallywood common, Essex 9-1-1873 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy in 1896. He served onboard HMS Arthusa during the Boxer rebellion of 1900. He was discharged to shore on purchase in 1902 & enrolled in to the R.F.R in 1906. He spent most of his war onboard HMS Actaem & the rest of the war at a number of shore bases. He took he took his final discharge from the R.F.R in 1921.
