To- RICHARD.WALLIS.MAY
2nd Lieutenant Richard Wallis May, 2nd Battalion the Durham Light Infantry. He was the son of Frank Worley May and Agnes Mabel May. Gentleman Cadet at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Commissioned into the Durham Light Infantry on 11 Nov 1914. He was killed in action at Hooge, 4 miles east of Ypres, Belgium on 9 Aug 1915 aged 21 years. He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres & on a memorial plaque in St John the Baptist Church, Lower Church Road, Weston super Mare, England
