John.W.Woodhead first landed in France 26-9-1915 serving with the 8th service battalion of the Border Regiment. He was awarded the Military Medal for services in France in the London gazette 16-11-1916 & sadly died in the influenza pandemic 22-11-1918 whilst serving at home with the 3rd battalion. He is buried in Sowerby Bridge (Luddenden) cemetery age 32.His widow Marion Woodhead claimed a pension for herself & her two children age 8 & 6 whilst living in Gorton Manchester in 1919.
