Robert William Nixon Cutter was born in Monkwearmouth 8-4-1879 & enlisted in to the Royal Naval Reserve in 1904. He initially trained at HMS Cochrane & then went on to be based HMS Bacchante, HMS Cyclops & HMS Pembroke whilst patrolling the North East Coast.He took his discharge in 1919 whilst living in Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
