George Albert Plested was born in Camden Town 1-7-1897 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in 1913. on the outbreak of WW1 he was serving onboard HMS Lowestoft & continued to serve on her until January of 1918 when he was posted to HMS Cyclops. He left the service in 1927 & joined the RFR & was awarded his Long service in 1931 & was recalled for service in WW2 on the outbreak of war. He spent all of his WW2 service at HMS Cyclops & was awarded the Military B.E.M for his services in the London gazette 1-1-1946, He died in Plymouth in 1970.
