Robert Townshend Anwyl-Passingham was born 16-10-1867 & was commissioned in to the South Wales Borderers 30-1-1886. He was attached to the Madras staff corps 3-8-188 & served with the 12th mounted infantry during the Burma campaigns. He was promoted to captain in 1897 & after service with the Burma military police. He went on to serve with the 72nd Punjabis as a Major. He was placed on retired pay in 1907 & appears on the army list from 1915 to 1822 as a non effective officer. He was awarded the Military O.B.E in the London gazette 7-6-1918 for his services as assistant director of recruiting in Wrexham. He is listed in Burkes handbook to the landed gentry as Anwyl-Passingham of Bala & the family estate was at Bryn-y-Groes Bala. He was a JP for the county & died at his brother residence in Chelsea in 1926. This pair of medals are his complete & only medal entitlement
