Richard Nutter from Skipton was a member of the 2/6th battalion of the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment & was awarded the Military Medal (MM) for services in France in the London gazette 13-3-1918. This was followed by the award of the bar to the MM also for services in France & this was published in the London gazette 6-8-1918. The recipients name is listed in the gallantry award roll at the back of Cravens roll of the great war.
