James McLagan from Kirkcaldy enlisted in to the R.N.A.S 6-4-1915 and served as a fitter in France. He transferred to the RAF on its formation in April 1918 & was discharged in 1919. He injured his left thumb in the course of his service & this is recorded on his service papers.
