John James Dandridge was born on Shanklin on the Isle of Wight 14-3-1901 enlisted as boy in to the Royal Navy in March 1917 & served onboard HMS Benbow during WW1. He was awarded his RN LS&GC in 1934 & sadly died at sea with the loss of the S.S.Rotorua 11-12-1940 when it was sunk by a German U-Boat. He was 39 years of age & He is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial & is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of William & Florence Dandridge & the late husband of Edith Gertrude Dandridge.
WW1 Pair polished fair to fine with eks, all other medals in the group are NEF/EF. Court mounted for wear & complete with the original box of issue & condolence slip along with copy service papers & CWGC details.
