John Campbell from the Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkudbright first landed in France 1-5-1917 serving as a chauffeur with the Scottish branch of the British Reds Cross Society and returned to the UK 28-11-1917. He went to France for a second period of service 14-7-1918 to 25-12-1918 and then returned home to the UK.
